Having served in the British Forces, it was mandatory for us to pass annual military tests. One of these tests was Navigation. Navigation is a huge subject and being a navigation instructor within the military has helped me gain a huge wide range of knowledge.
It is scary the amount of people that go to the mountains for adventures without a map and compass. People take to the hills, mountains and even countryside, seeking to explore what our great landscape has to offer. Many times getting lost, asking passers by for advice, becoming at risk. All because they wasn’t correctly equipped.
